Was I wrong in this instance?

I was driving and when I got to the end of my street, I stopped, rolled forward a few ft so I could see and then stopped again. Just then a.car was coming in the opposite direction, slammed on her breaks, and blasted her horn. Idk if I was too far out, she didn't think I was stopping, or she didnt think I saw her. Either way I had no intention if continuing on until I knew it was clear and I feel like she was going way too fast to begin with. Now I'm rattled cuz it was in a car I just got, and it was inky my second time driving by myself.
